James Lamb Green IV, lovingly known as Bud, 23, of Aledo, passed away September 18, 2026.
Bud was born August 14, 2003. He was an exceptionally intelligent, gifted, kind, and personable young man with an endless curiosity about the world around him. He was deeply loved and well liked, and had a remarkable ability to connect with people.
Bud graduated from Aledo High School in 2022, where he participated in robotics and debate. His robotics team competed at the world championships three times, and Bud was recognized as a finalist for the FIRST Dean’s List Award. He was also a National Merit Finalist.
Fencing was an important part of Bud’s life. He began fencing saber at a young age and dedicated more than a third of his life to the sport. He was an All-American fencer for three years and was ranked No. 33 in the United States in men’s saber for the 21-and-under category.
Bud attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he was pursuing a double major in Psychology and Data Science. He was named to the Dean’s List multiple times. He loved learning, reading, statistics, and numbers, often exploring them simply for fun.
Bud had many interests, including music, movies, trivia, hockey and college football. He enjoyed traveling to different campuses to watch games and listening to a wide variety of music. He was a thoughtful listener and deep thinker who could have a meaningful conversation with virtually anyone. He was known for his warmth, humor, kindness, and genuine interest in others.
Bud is survived by his mother, Lareeca Green; his father, Trip Green; his sister, Calie Green; his grandfather, James Green II.; Loree McKee, Chrystal and Travis Green, Levi, Michelle and Danica McKee; and many loving family members and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mike and Tareeca McKee, and his paternal grandmother Linda Green.
A memorial service honoring Bud will be held at 10 a.m.Thursday, October 15, at Marty Leonard Chapel in Fort Worth. A reception will immediately follow at the Amon Carter Center.
