The Weatherford College women’s cross country team continued its strong season with a standout performance at the 38th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, competing in the meet’s faster section against some of the nation’s top two-year college programs at the University of Arkansas cross country course in Fayetteville.
Women’s cross country coach James Majenge said WC was one of only a few two-year colleges invited to compete in the elite division of the event. The Coyotes finished just 21 points behind No. 5-ranked El Paso while outperforming every other top 10 community college that qualified for the faster section.
Up next for the Coyotes is the DBU Old Glory Gallup on Oct. 17 at AP Ranch in Fort Worth.
