The Weatherford swim team began its second season Saturday, Oct. 24, competing at the Arlington ISD Invitational. The Lady Roos earned fifth place out of 16 teams while the boys team placed 10th out of 14 teams.

The girls team was led by Victoria Pritchett, who finished second in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle races. She also was on the 200-yard medley relay team that placed fourth along with Avery Meek, Emma Kechnie and Kiela Daniel. The four racers also competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay which earned seventh place.

The boys team saw Cullen Costella place fifth in the 100-yard backstroke and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly races. Brady D’Spain earned seventh in the 50-yard freestyle. Both were also a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay along with Jaxon Edwards and Soltan Adel.

Weatherford swim coach Tiffany Williams had only positive things for her team’s start of their second season of competition.

“Our team has grown tremendously from last year,” Williams said. “For some of these swimmers this was their first meet. I think overall our team did great and I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season looks like.”

The teams are scheduled to compete Saturday, Nov. 7, back at the Arlington ISD Natatorium.
