The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees has announced the resignation of Greg Shaw, who is stepping down due to a change in residency. Shaw was first elected in May 2016 and was serving his third term.
During the March 10 school board meeting, Shaw was recognized for his years of dedicated service. In his remarks, he reflected on the district’s progress during his tenure, including enhancements to athletic facilities, the construction of a new CTE building at the high school, the launch of the Grizzard Regional Institute of Technology, the addition of a new auto tech center, and the Collegiate Academy that gives high school students the opportunity to earn an Associate’s Degree from Weatherford College during high school.
“It has been an honor to serve the students, staff, and families of Weatherford ISD,” Shaw said. “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished collectively as a team, and I look forward to seeing the district continue to grow and thrive.”
Board of Trustees President Mike Guest expressed gratitude for Shaw’s leadership and service.
“Greg has been a steadfast advocate for our students and an important part of our district’s progress,” Guest said. “His dedication and vision have helped shape the future of our school district, and we deeply appreciate his years of commitment.”
Three candidates have filed to run for Shaw’s Place 4 seat in the upcoming May 3, 2025, election: Samuel Stephens, Dan Woods, and Devon Flowers.
The Board of Trustees and Weatherford ISD extended their “heartfelt appreciation to Greg Shaw for his years of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to students.”
