The Sour Boule, a sourdough bakery and sandwich shop, is set to open in mid-July at 280 Willow Bend, Suite 300, in Willow Park, by the husband-and-wife team Lance and Alexis Misner.
The couple began their sourdough journey out of their home in 2021, and with success in the kitchen, they decided to start selling baked goods at local farmers' markets under the name “Misner Family Farms.”
“We're a sourdough company at our core,” said Lance. “We took like 40 loaves to the first market, and sold out in 45 minutes.
We started getting callbacks, and knew they created something special. To continue growth, they built a website and started delivering orders across North Texas until outgrowing their home kitchen.
The Misner’s took a leap and opened up their first location in Fort Worth along the Benbrook Traffic Circle before settling in at the old Edelweiss German Restaurant location at 3801 Southwest Blvd.
Within the last year, the couple said they “really wanted to get back out this way [west Fort Worth] because this is where our core customer base” is, said Lance. “And I grew up here in Aledo…so when we saw this position available we knew, ‘This is it. This is the spot.’”
The Willow Bend location will keep the same core foundation focused around their made-fresh-daily bread, offering homemade baked goods and sandwiches with some menu updates to be announced soon.
While The Sour Boule Willow Bend is a “takeout-focused” eatery, it is also family-friendly, providing a safe space for parents to enjoy a meal while their kids enjoy the play area.
“I really wanted to be a part of the Aledo community again… and I think having the better healthy options out here that don't break the bank is really our goal,” said Lance.
On top of providing a fresh food option to Aledo, the Misner’s hope to get involved with the community through schools and to continue to support Alliance for Children, a non-profit dedicated to protection from child abuse through their business.
