Blake Glass has been named head choir director at Aledo High School.
Glass has been the head choir director at Western Hills High School in the Fort Worth ISD since 2020. In his time there, he quadrupled the choir program enrollment, led 10 Texas All-State Choir members, and helped the program accomplish 11 UIL Sweepstakes-winning choirs. He was also named the WHHS Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026 and has previously been the student council advisor on campus.
“I am so honored and excited to join the Aledo ISD family,” Glass said. “Aledo ISD Fine Arts has an incredible tradition of excellence, and I cannot wait to get to work alongside these students and families. My goal is to build something special here, a program where any student can be a singer, grow musically, and leave better than they came.”
Glass has also been the music director at Saint Matthew United Methodist Church since 2021, and the tenor section leader for church services and member of the professional choir (Highland Park Chorale) at Highland Park Presbyterian Church since 2020. In 2024-2025, Glass was the assistant conductor in the Greater Dallas Choral Society youth chorus — the most prestigious youth choral organization in DFW — leading sectionals and playing piano for leading sectional rehearsals.
“We are excited to continue the wonderful Aledo Choir tradition that Karen Paul started and to grow our program as we grow as a campus under Mr. Glass,” Aledo ISD fine arts director Missey Head said. “Mr. Glass has an expectation of excellence and is very good at building relationships with and confidence within his students so that they can all grow and feel supported and successful. We are grateful that he chose to become a Bearcat!”
Glass has been a Pre-UIL judge and a UIL clinician for many DFW-area high schools and school districts over the last few years. Glass has a bachelor of choral music education from Mississippi College and is currently working toward his masters of music in choral conducting from Texas State University.
