Hanf had one of the best seasons in WC history, going 21-7 in 32 appearances with an earned run average of 2.11. She was the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Pitcher of the Week twice and was a first team all-conference honoree for the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference and All-Region V. She also threw the first perfect game in program history in April.
The NFCA also honored several Coyotes with All-West Region awards. Hanf was first team all-region, Sadie Reid was the second team all-region second baseman, Lilli Williams was second team all-region at third base and the shortstop for the second team was Peyton Young.
Head softball coach Haylee Williams said this about her athlete’s recognition, “Those kids deserve every award they received this year. They work hard in and out of practice and were great leaders for us throughout the year. I am so proud of them and the recognition they earned.”
WC (33-15) was No. 20 in the final NJCAA Division I national poll.
As the Coyotes look forward to next season, Williams wants the team to, “carry over [their] toughness, work ethic, and team chemistry into next year and carry on a great tradition of excellence.”
