The new center, which seats 700-800, was jam-packed at the 9:30 a.m. service, with overflow worshipers in the lobby and the old worship center.
The congregation is led by Pastor Eric Kuykendall, who stepped up as senior pastor of the church in January of 2023 after joining the staff in 2014.
“For our church it was a monumental moment,” Kuykendall said of the new worship center. When he and the elders of the church planned for it, they agreed “God’s going to have to pull this off — and He has,” Kuykendall said.
One of the features of the new center is an outdoor covered gathering space where church members can visit and connect. Kuykendall said the space was very intentional, as the old worship center did not have the space for congregants to gather before, between, and after services.
While the 11 a.m. service was not as packed as the 9:30 a.m. service, it was “comfortably full,” Kuykendall said, but added that the important thing was that “the Lord use this facility to help people find their purpose.”
