Every table at the River Ranch Stockyards venue was full, meaning a capacity crowd of about 500 people who attended to support the cause.
“We are so grateful for JAG Metals LLC to step up again as the Presenting Sponsor, as well as the numerous sponsors and donors who supported our event,” said Penny Shelton, Chairperson. “We could not do this without their support. The word I would use to describe our supporters is generous.”
The community “stepped up to the plate and it was just more than what we could have hoped for,” said board member Shane Cartwright. “Everybody was there in a spirit of giving.”
That spirit of giving included silent and live auctions, raffle packages and the fun game of “Heads or Tails.”
Items donated by local businesses, along with a passionate call to action, drove participation in donations. The items ranged from credit towards the Bowie House Hotel in Fort Worth, a Louis Vuitton duffel bag and purse, a Florida beach house, hunting trips and much more.
“It’s just overwhelming…what we experienced,” Shelton said. “The awareness that we are an all volunteer board, knowledge of our mission and the many agencies we support…it was a magical night.”
Every dollar raised by PCHF stays in the community, supporting nonprofits like the Parker County Center of Hope/Kingdom Smiles, Manna Storehouse, Freedom House, Children’s Advocacy Center of Parker County, Parker County Committee on Aging/Meals on Wheels, Grace House Ministries, Sanctified Hope, Parker County Child Protective Services volunteer board, with the possibility of helping more agencies.
Now that the money is raised, organizations will apply and present their mission/request at the PCHF allocation meeting on Apr. 7 in hopes to gain support of the foundation. Once chosen, checks will be presented on Apr. 17 to fulfill the needs of the nonprofits.
Through organizations like the PCHF and events like Boots & Bling, Parker County proves that generosity and serving the community remain a core effort. To donate to PCHF, visit https://bit.ly/4b9cGye.
