The City of Willow Park has a fun-filled day planned for the nation’s 250th birthday on July 4, including live music, a hot-dog-eating contest, a patriotic dog fashion show, and a drone show.
“Willow Spark” will begin with a community parade from King’s Gate Park to The District. Anyone who wants to join the parade should gather in the children’s area of the park around 5 p.m. for the parade, which will wind through the park and end at The District.
Mix Tape’s Live 80 band will begin playing at 6 p.m. along with a welcome from Mayor Teresa Palmer.
Bring your dog in its best patriotic regalia for the Patriotic Dog Fashion Show at 6:30.
At 7:30 the Hot Dog Eating Contest begins at 7:30 with live music continuing between events. The big finale will be the drone show from 9-9:15.
Registration for any of the contests is available on-site at the event.
