The ambiance of the bar is achieved through the original stained-glass windows from 1883, matched with brown leather couches, green wooden walls, and low lighting. It is best described as “a modern, luxurious Western speakeasy environment,” according to the Chapel Bar website.
Jazz Chapel, an event venue, is the original business in the restored historic building, which was previously a furniture store neighboring a funeral home. Developers Matt Hughes and Griffin Phillips brought it back to life in June 2025.
Hughes reached out to Lehrmann, wanting to do more with the space, and within 90 days, Chapel Bar became a reality, opening on Nov. 21, 2025. “[Chapel Bar] is a spinoff and a sister of Jazz Chapel,” said Lehrmann. It is an ambient space with cozy indoor seating and a courtyard for people to gather and enjoy specialty cocktails and small bites.
Lehrmann’s culinary and restaurant industry experience aids in the menu and atmosphere at the date-night spot. He attended culinary school and worked as a chef at multiple four-star restaurants before becoming a partner of Neon Light District Hospitality, a premier restaurant group, to independently owning Chapel Bar.
“I realized that there’s an opportunity for me to do this on my own,” said Lehrmann.
Lehrmann has been a part of serval Fort Worth icons over the years such as Taco Heads, Tinie’s Mexican Rotisserie, and Sidesaddle Saloon.
He also helped create the concept for Courtside Kitchen, where he worked as an executive chef.
At Chapel Bar, he enjoys broadening the horizons of customers through a menu that consists of “some of the best [food and] drinks in Parker County,” said Lehrmann, pairing together southern classic small-bites and a cocktail. His favorites consist of the Naked & Famous mezcal cocktail and the Pimento Cheese small plate.
“[Chapel Bar] is just all around a very refined place,” said Lehrmann, prioritizing hospitality and community efforts on top of the dining experience.
Lehrmann has many things in store for the future to give back to and get involved with the Weatherford community that welcomed Chapel Bar with open arms this past year. He hopes to host charity events, continue live music on Thursdays, and prioritize intimate events like wine dinners and spirit masterclasses.
