Aledo Anglers win first tournament

Weatherford Christian duo’s haul good for eighth

The Aledo Anglers and Weatherford Christian School Bass Club both had anglers competing Saturday, Sept. 12, in the Texas High School Bass Association tournament on Lake Granbury.

The Aledo team finished first overall, and WSC earned 10th place out of 34 schools competing.

The Bearcats had a total of 34.86 pounds as a group. The team of Declan Lickerman and Dominic Rigoli had the best day, catching five fish for a total of 13.3 pounds, good for sixth place individually.

For WCS, the team of Grant Vick and Cooper Gosnell caught five fish weighing in at 13.19 pounds, good for eighth place individually and to carry the club overall as no other team was able to bring in a fish that day.

The Aledo teams of Tyler Page and Peyton Hills along with Dean Gallaher and Kameron Younger finished 13th and 14th. Both teams caught five fish, with Page/Hills just edging out Gallaher/Younger with their catch coming in it at 10.8 pounds compared to 10.76 pounds.

The Aledo team of Beckham Thomas and Tristan Hardison caught three fish for 5.83 pounds to come in 39th place. Gavin Holcomb fished by himself and caught one fish weighing 5.5 pounds for 42nd place.

Aledo’s Grayson Bassham and Dean Timmerman teamed together to catch three fish weighing 4.4 pounds and finished 49th overall. Aledo’s Caroline Sanders caught one fish for 4.36 pounds as she tied for 50th place.

The Aledo team of Noah Wagnon and Jackson Burton caught two fish worth 2.85 pounds and finished 61st. Aledo’s Rudder Magnum and Joe Kennedy teamed to catch one fish weighing in at 1.87 pounds.

Aledo’s Kayden Dendy and Karsten Donarumo caught one fish weighing in at 1.58 pounds as the team finished in 75th place. Aledo’s Grady Haddox and Michael Dillon also caught one fish weighing in at 1.05 pounds as they finished in 81st place.
