Wild Honey Mercantile Boutique & Coffee Co. is a Western-themed coffee shop and boutique located in Suite 103 at 1799 E. FM 1187 in Aledo. This hidden gem, owned by Liz Davis, opened its doors to the community on March 7.

Davis and her family moved to Aledo from West Virginia about a year ago and began the project. With experience in bartending, a love for coffee, and an established online boutique, Davis had all she needed for a successful business. Davis opened her boutique in October 2025 from her home, selling clothing, shoes, accessories, gift items, and home goods. Once she got the idea to open a coffee shop, “We just decided to merge them together,” she said.

The name Wild Honey Mercantile Boutique & Coffee Co. stems from Davis and her husband’s belief in honey. “It’s just good for so many things,” said Davis, such as healing scrapes or treating allergies. Many of Davis’ coffee syrups are made from honey. Davis believes “even if you get older, stay wild and have fun, it doesn’t really matter your age, you can still just make the best of life.”

The menu in the coffee shop is unique and specialty curated by Davis. “I came up with everything on my own. I experimented around with the recipes and the flavors of the syrups and the recipes of the drinks for months,” she said. And, “for [items] on the baked fresh menu…most of the recipes are family recipes.” Her favorites are the cold brew for the strong coffee flavor and the blueberry scone or cinnamon rolls.

Davis also prides herself on the fact that the menu has “simple, organic, and whole ingredients.”

“The coffee business feeds off the boutique [or vice versa],” said Davis.

Once grabbing a beverage or pastry, visitors can shop around in the boutique or find a seat in the lounge area, which provides a space for anyone to enjoy. “Its a fun [cozy] place… to come sip something good and shop,” said Davis.

Davis says “creating an inviting place for the community to come in that’s welcoming and fun…and has clean ingredients that can be a healthy option for people to better themselves and better their health,” is her proudest accomplishment.

With newfound success in Aledo, Davis wants to get her business involved with their local church, attend missionary trips, and do meaningful things to get plugged in, as well as expand to more locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Florida. “It was a dream coming to life,” said Davis, in a post describing the opening of her business.
